The issue has to do with the Visual Basic script run time files are not properly registered.
The problem can be resolved in two ways.
Resolution 1
Launch the SEO Studio installer in "Passive" mode. First, find the SEO Studio installer file from the "Run" command by browsing to find the SEO Studio.exe installer file you have downloaded from our site.
- Double-click on the installer file and it will add the installation file to the 'command line' including the path to the installer file.
- Then type " /passive" after whatever it fills in like the illustration below. Please note the quotes are needed around the file path. Example: "C:\Seo Studio.exe" /passive
Resolution 2
Open the RUN menu or command prompt and enter this from a command line:
regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\vbscript.dll
The UAC (User Account Control) may need to be turned off to register the vbscript.dll correctly, so if the process hangs or does not work, try to disable UAC and then try to register it again. To disable the UAC (User Account Control) go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off and make sure that the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option is unchecked and press OK.
At this point you should be able to install SEO Studio without any errors.
